Lost

Well, I gave in at last and "aquired" series 1 of "Lost" and watched all 24 episodes in 4 days (a lot of late nights).
I have to say that I have been intrigued by it since I saw the trailer at the cinema and would probably have watched it on TV when it came out if I had a TV.
I thoughly enjoyed it and will get the second season too, it may not be up to the hype but its still damn good.
The hype is pretty damn stunning though. I'm not sure whether ABC or fans have set them up but there are relitively realistic sites for Driveshaft (Charile's band) and Oceanic Airlines which I think is possibly bit much.
If you haven't sseen to the last episode of season 1 then there may be spoilers below.

Polar bears. So far there have been at least 2, I think that they came with the French Chick and Co when they came over for their science expedition, looking at how animals cope in different enviroments isn't that uncommon, even if it was meant to be somewhere else they were going. They may even have been taking them to Antartica for experiments as that is apparently fairly close.

The Hatch. My first thoughts were that it was some sort of submarine which had run aground and then been covered, not too inconiveable considering where the "Black Rock" was. This was kind of discredited when I saw how far down the ladder went inside the hatch, possibly something to do with the "monster".

The Monster. I'm fairly sure that it isn't an actual monster, whatever it is sounds mechanical to me. I think that whatever it is is underground too, it tried to drag Lock down into that hole. When the trees get ripped out of the ground I think they're being pushed up out of the ground instead of pulled, they don't look like there is a lot of strain on the top of them and when they are moving around in some of the shots there doesn't seem to be anything at the top of them.

The Others. I think that, tying into the last two items that they have some sort of system of tunnels and are controling the monster. It would explain how they got to the black fire without leaving footprints (although that could just have been the tide) and would explain how they seem to appear and dissappear all over the place without warning. I also think that the others may well have been the people in the boat who took Walt.

Other theories etc are welcomed.

Oh, and this was the first time I've used the Draft function on blogger, due to having a lunch break.

Oh my god, I've never seen that trailer before - it was amazing! So stylised and really bizarre!

The people on the boat must have been the others - Claire's baby was a red herring, the others were only after 'the kid' and we assumed it was the kid because of Claire's disappearance, but it was on really the French lady who wanted the baby.

Also, the ladder inside the hatch stopped - this either means that it rotted away which means that the hatch is really ancient, or whatever/whoever is down there, is stuck down there. Bear in mind too that trees has overgrown the hatch originally...

Actually, the consipating isn't leading to a point, merely specualtion.

But yes! Roll on Series 2!!

Going from your comments from ages back:
Desktop background it here by knives-banime.

Yup, that guys face wasn't too bad, but his eyes popped out to contest mrs Halliday's.

Neverwinter Nights is old now, yes, but theres still a hell of a lot of people playing it, I recently managed to convert Mike Dennis too. =P

Back to Lost:
Just about to watch the first episode of season 2, I didn't notice that the ladder in the hatch stopped. *goes off and checks*
Oh yeah...
Well, I reccon that the Others run about underground, and that goes to their tunnels but they let it get overgrown because they couldn't get up it.

I can't wait for the 2nd series!

I'm addicted!

But I'm umeployed so I won't be buying the season 1 dvd just yet :D

The book will have to do for now..

DID YOU KNOW!

That in the original script for the series, they were gonna kill off Jack in in first few episodes? :D

Ah yes, Deviant Art, I remember! Ta very much; you're back on the blogroll by the way, sorry about that!

When you say they were gonna kill Jack, did he have such a leading roll back then, or do you think he was a doctor in a secondary roll, like Boone? Hmm... Perhaps he will die before the show finishes, in a Frodo style way, y'know, for the greater good.

Also, that Drive Shaft site is a little revealing. It says its been a whole year since Charlie's disappearance, which indicates that either 1) he is still on the island, 2) dies, or 3) goes into hiding after escaping the island for whatever reason.

Ok, I've watched episode 1 of Season 2 now, I'm not going to say anything incase I give away spoilers, when does it come out in the UK?

Frodo dies!?

No worries about the blogroll, I was wondering how long it would be before anyone realised I had been posting but I figured if I wasn't on your blogroll you wouldn't check.

I can't say I'm great at analysis of such things but I would say Jack isn't really needed that much as a character. Saieed could do most of his functions (leader and surgeon (he fixed Charlie up pretty well, brutally but well))

Um...yeah... Well, at least I assumed that to go into the West (or at least that place where all the elves are migrating to) was a physical metaphor for death. To sail to the West was to lay yourself to rest... ah well, I never read the books, but that's how it seemed in the film.

As for Jack not being that important - gasp!
